We are starting a new church wide Prayer List, and monthly Prayer Update from the Elders! You can submit a prayer request on “The Sunday Section” of the website by either using the QR Code in the bulletin, or by talking with Connor Jordan. He will be reaching out to pray with anyone who submits a request before posting it on the prayer list. Connor or an elder will also check in regularly to see how it’s going. Access the Prayer List here.
You may have to request access since we are not making it public. Also, the elders will be putting out a monthly prayer guide with answered prayers, important updates, and also recommendations for how you could focus your prayer that month. If you have any questions, please reach out to Connor Jordan at Connor12@vt.edu.
Seasons of Grace Ladies’ Retreat at Deer Run Camp! It will go from the evening of April 21 through the morning of April 23, 2023. Come join us for a time of extended fellowship and a deeper look at how we can grow together and serve each other as women of Grace Fellowship, all to the glory of God. We’ll be discussing mentorship, biblical counseling, and hospitality in different seasons of life. Please invite your daughters 13 and up to join us!
We don’t have a final price yet but will be approximately $180/person (2 nights and 5 wonderful meals plus snacks). Church scholarships are available for anyone who needs it. We want all our ladies to be able to come! Registration will open soon and you can contact Dorene Pine with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ladies’ Bible Study
We will be starting a Psalms Bible Study led by Sara Morse that will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. It will be for ladies age 12 and up! We’ll meet on February 28th at the Morse’s house at 6:00 pm for an introduction to the study, and a time of fellowship. Please contact Sara at email@example.com with any questions.
Men’s Hangout Nights
We’re going to have three Men’s Nights this year, built around fellowshipping and studying Marty Machowski’s book, “Brave and Bold: 31 Devotions to Strengthen Men.” These are short (1-2 page) devotionals on being a godly man. At each men’s night, we’ll eat, maybe play some games, and discuss 10 of the devotionals from the book. Fathers will be reading with their sons and including them as well. The dates for those nights are: March 25, July 15, and October 21. If you have any questions, reach out to Kevin Morse at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are working on improving our process for welcoming visitors and following up with them, and Larry Reeves is going to be our point person for this. Besides making sure to get visitor information, we’re going to start having a lunch every other month after church where visitors can spend time with an elder and several members to learn more about the church. If you’d like to help with anything related to our visitors, please contact Larry at email@example.com.
This year we are working with five men from the church, training them how to be teachers within the church. We are studying through several books on the church and teaching for the first part of the year, and then they will be taught how to go from studying Scripture to teaching or preaching within the church. This group will be meeting regularly throughout the year. Please pray for this endeavor as creating solid teachers and leaders in the church is vital for a church’s long term health. This is our first group but we are hoping to make this a regular part of the church’s ministry so if you’re a man who is interested in being a part of this in the future, please talk with Kevin Morse at firstname.lastname@example.org.
